Thank you for visiting my website. I am a psychiatrist practicing in Westwood, California. I specialize in treating children, adults (including women's mental health), and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or relationship difficulties.

Frequently we are able to find solutions to problems ourselves or with the guidance of family and friends. However, there may be times emotions may appear to be overwhelming or we find our behaviors change in a manner that can be disruptive to our lives. These changes can be significant enough that one can experience loss of concentration, motivation, appetite, and/or sleep. The reasons for such a disruption in our daily activities may be due to circumstances outside of our control, biological changes, or a profound change in relationships or any combination of factors.

For children, significant disruptions in their emotional health may propel them into a downward trajectory with negative consequences for the remainder of their lives. School performance, professional achievement, and relationships with family, friends, and acquaintances may all be impaired.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists complete two years of training in addition to their study as Adult Psychiatrists. They are experts at recognizing, diagnosing, and treating emotional and psychological disorders in both children and adults. Since psychiatrists are medical doctors, they can recognize when psychological difficulties may be due to medical illnesses and can collaborate effectively with physicians in other specialties to coordinate care as a team.
